Anwar Russell - Assistant Movement Director


Anwar is originally from Dundee in Scotland and has worked across many platforms including theatre, film and dance. 

Theatre credits include Out of this World with V-TolImogen at the Shakespeare’s GlobeThe Drowned Man with PunchdrunkCan We Talk About This? with DV8 Physical Theatre (National Theatre) and Mischief with Theatre Rites (Broadway)

Film credits include The MummyWorld War Z and Sunshine on Leith. 

Anwar choreographed Spring Awakening at Royal Conservatoire Scotland / Dundee Rep, co-directed the 2016 Brighton Fringe Award winning show It Started With Jason Donovan and also worked as a performance captain for the 2014 Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony and the 2015 European Games Torch Lighting Ceremony in Azerbaijan.
