Paul Sturrock is a Dundee United legend who will forever be associated with the glory years of the 1980s and the Jim McLean era. Both a winger and a striker, Sturrock was instrumental in some of the Tangerines’ greatest moments, including twice beating Barcelona en route to the 1987 Uefa Cup final.
“Luggy” played 20 times for Scotland, including at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. He went on to manage St Johnstone, Dundee United, Plymouth Argyle, Sheffield Wednesday and Southampton and enjoyed considerable success as a manager.
Join the Arabs’ legend in conversation with sports journalist Graham Spiers, chatting about his career and the various characters he played with. Sturrock also offers real insight about the making and methods of the legendary Jim McLean, the man, he says, “who made me 70% a better player”.
