If I Had A Girl…
Thu 16 March at 7.30pm
If I had a girl... is a groundbreaking verbatim production that provides startling insight into the lived experience of honour-based violence in ethnic minority communities around Scotland.
In their own words, survivors and perpetrators of honour-based violence show us how the choices we make, the families we are born into, and the expectations of others can shape our lives irrevocably.
If I had a girl... speaks for those whose voices are silenced or stolen.
Written by Mariem Omari (Staring out of Windows) and directed by Umar Ahmed (Tamasha Theatre’s My Name is...).
Supported by Big Lottery and Scottish Government.
Running time: 75 minutes, no interval
Age range: 14+, scenes of violence and strong language
