Two new acting graduates to join our award-winning company

Joining Dundee Rep Ensemble next season as new acting graduates are Rebekah Lumsden and Laurie Scott, both recently graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. They will join the company in September and will go straight into rehearsals for Spoiling by John McCann. Spoiling will be Dundee Rep Ensemble’s seventh community production to tour to community venue across Dundee, Angus, Perthshire and Fife.

Rebekah and Laurie secured their places with the company after a rigorous auditioning process and are the latest drama students to work with the award-winning Theatre Company.

Dundee Rep Theatre’s Associate Artistic Director Joe Douglas said “Laurie and Rebekah are extremely talented young performers and will be great additions to the Dundee Rep Ensemble for our upcoming season.

“It was a difficult decision with some impressive actors auditioning for the two positions on our graduate scheme.  They showed their versatility, passion and playfulness through the audition process and I have no doubt that they will delight our audiences in Dundee.”

Dundee Rep Ensemble’s apprentice scheme is a yearlong placement giving drama school graduates a unique opportunity to work for a sustained period, in a nurturing and professional environment. Rebekah and Laurie will gain a vast wealth of experience and knowledge of the theatre and touring venues.

Rebekah originally from Bathgate has just graduated from the BA Acting programme at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Rebekah performed in the National Theatre of Scotland’s production The Tin Forrest which ran alongside the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Laurie originally from Yorkshire has spent much of his life in Scotland. While studying, Laurie performed in many stage productions, narrated for BBC radio and starred as the leading role in Unterwasser ist es Still, an independent film by German production company lilablassblaukariert.
