DUNDEE REP ENSEMBLE
DR KORCZAK’S EXAMPLE
by David Greig
David Greig's hugely successful play portrays the gripping real life events of the famous Polish paediatrician Dr Korczak. 1940's in a war-torn Warsaw and against all odds this remarkable man attempts to run an orphanage for Jewish children.
Dr Korczak's Example is an engrossing, amusing and moving story exploring right and wrong and how we bring up children in a complex moral world. Korczak created a unique children's republic in the orphanage, but his experiment was brought abruptly to an end in the gas chambers of Treblinka. His ground-breaking work with children eventually became the basis of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Dr Korczak’s Example was an instant sell out at Dundee Rep in February 2006. Don’t miss this chance to catch it again … book early.
