Dundee Rep Artistic Director Andrew Panton

Born in Fife, Andrew went on to study at the Arts Educational Schools, London and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama. He has worked across theatre, television, film and music in a career that has taken him all over the world. 

Andrew has held directing residencies at the Royal & Derngate Theatres, Northampton, Perth Theatre and The Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, where he directed a premiere season of Sir Alan Ayckbourn’s work. 

He has directed productions for the National Theatre of Scotland, Edinburgh Royal Lyceum and Glasgow Citizen’s Theatre. For Dundee Rep he directed Love Song, The Mill Lavvies and Winter’s Wonderland and was Movement Director for the TMA and CATS award-winning Sweeney Todd.  TV includes Children in Need, Gareth Malone’s The Naked Choir and Tonight’s the Night for the BBC. 

Andrew is also Artistic Director of Musical Theatre at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a previous winner of the Bruce Millar Award for directing.
