Dundee Rep Ensemble celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
The Ensemble was brought together in August 1999 as a three-year experiment funded by the National Lottery. The vision to create a permanent, full time acting company was inspired by great European theatre companies that have developed reputations for creating truly extraordinary work. It was a brave move and was by no means certain to succeed...
'an Ensemble which never disappoints with its impressive breadth of production and performance' The Herald
But succeed it did! The company produced its first show, A Midsummer Night's Dream back in autumn 1999 - sixty eight productions and 2,246 performances later the company is still going strong, it has established itself as an award-winning and internationally recognised producer of excellent and exciting theatre which has toured extensively throughout the UK as well as to more far-flung corners of the globe including Japan, Iran and Mexico.
This season, we have been celebrating the anniversary with our Ensemble and with our audiences by putting on fantastic productions starring past and present Ensemble members.
