McGonagall's Chronicles

McGonagall’s Chronicles (Which Will Be Remembered For a Very Long Time)
Sat 31 Mar at 7.30pm

I’m in love with a man from Dundee
Though he lived 100 years before me
He was a poet
He was aware of this
I think he was brilliant
But not everyone would agree

His name was Sir William Topaz McGonagall. His life I will now attempt to chronicle.

McGonagall’s Chronicles (Which Will Be Remembered For a Very Long Time) is the latest show from multi-award winning writer/performer Gary McNair, whose stories of the trials and triumphs of growing up in working class Scotland have toured the world to huge critical acclaim.

Expect a healthy dose of McNair’s unique storytelling style.

“Scotland’s funniest non-comedian” The List,

“Nobody is better than McNair at capturing what it feels like to be the odd kid growing up in a town where c*nt isn’t a swearword, it just means a person” The Guardian.

Directed by Dundee Rep favourite Joe Douglas (Cheviot, Death of a Salesman, The BFG) with music by Frightened Rabbit guitarist Simon Liddell, McGonagall’s Chronicles comes to you fresh from Glasgow’s A Play, A Pie and A Pint.

Topaz is coming hame.

Dundee will ne’er be the same.
