Our work breaks into 5 strands:
* Rep Creative Education
Working with Schools, FE Colleges and the Higher Education Sector we create programmes of work which both support and enhance the learning process. From bespoke workshops connected to productions to sustainable partnerships which develop Teachers whilst helping to creatively support the curriculum, our experienced and dedicated education specialists work closely within the heart of the creative process to bring theatre and learning together.
* Rep Creative Communities
Working across the city in Community Regeneration Centres, Youth Clubs, Secure Units and other venues our community work aims to work with those hard to reach groups who would not normally access the services of Dundee Rep.
* Rep Dramatherapy Service
In partnership with the Social work Department of Dundee City Council we also run a Dramathearapy Service for adults with mental health complex needs. This service is for people aged 16 -65. We provide closed and open groups for people experiencing mental health problems. Drama activities are used as a means of expressing emotions, learning new skills, reflecting on behavioural patterns, interacting with others, relating to others in a new/different way, gaining confidence, having fun and feeling better.
For more information please see the Dramatherapy information flyer
* Rep Participation
The Rep Youth Theatre is open to all ages age 5-25. Workshops run throughout the week which aim to explore theatre skills whilst building self esteem, confidence and communication. Groups have performed both at the Rep, across the city and internationally! The Rep’s Liifelong Learning Programme aims to work creatively with members of the community regardless of age. Both the Women’s Singing Group and the Adult Drama Group meet weekly to learn skills and create work for sharing.
* Rep Performance for Children and Young People
We are committed to offering a high quality theatre experience to children & young people. Our award winning acting Ensemble creates work which tours to schools and plays at the Rep. Our recent production of Dr. Korczak’s Example played to secondary schools across Fife.
