Creative Learning

As Scotland’s largest theatre based Creative Learning department, Rep Creative Learning (RCL) works with an average of 27,000 people every year. RCL engages people of all ages and abilities through a diverse, inspiring and accessible range of theatre based participation, performance and learning opportunities both within and outwith the theatre.

Creative Learning:
Discover, Question, Explore, Create, Play, Laugh, Inspire and Be Inspired.

Our work breaks down into four strands:

  • Education, Skills and Training

Our diverse and far-reaching education, skills and training programme engages children, young people, students, teachers and graduates through a range of exciting projects, performances and opportunities.

  • Community and Wellbeing

Our busy Community and Wellbeing strand engages with young people and adults of all backgrounds and abilities, from young people with diabetes, adults in recovery from substance abuse and our two companies for adults with a range of support needs, Inform Theatre and Illuminate Ensemble.

  • Participate

Each week we work with over 15 core groups, as well as a number of bespoke projects throughout the year.

  • Dramatherapy

Our Dramatherapists run two therapeutic services: an Adult Service which is delivered in partnership with Dundee City Council’s Social Work department as well as a Children and Young Person’s Service which is funded through Comic Relief. Dundee Rep is the only Theatre in the UK to offer this unique service.
