THE COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS IS HERE AS DUNDEE REP ENSEMBLE REHEARSE FOR A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Dundee Rep Rehearse A Christmas Carol

Excitement and anticipation builds with rehearsals in full swing and music drifting through the corridors filling the building with festive expectation for Dundee Rep Ensemble’s latest Christmas production, Neil Duffield’s magical and fresh adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novel, A Christmas Carol - performed by the Rep’s very own award-winning Ensemble and directed by Andrew Panton.

A Christmas Carol is Panton’s second show in the Autumn 2017 season at the Rep and follows the success of August: Osage County, earlier in the year.

This production of the well-loved play, boasts an outstanding cast of nine featuring the Rep’s resident Ensemble members Ewan Donald, Lewis Howden, Irene Macdougall, Ann Louise Ross, and Emily Winter alongside guest actor Scott Gilmour, and new graduate apprentices, Eleanor House, Hannah Pauley and Jamie Pritchard – who are all making their main stage debut at the Rep. They will also be joined on stage by a group of young performers who will make up The Young Company.

Panton brings together magical design and live music in an original take on this well-known tale; resident Ensemble member, Ann Louise Ross, will take on the role of a female Ebenezer Scrooge. With a heart locked up tighter than a cash box, Scrooge must endure the visits of three spirits for the chance to open up her heart and relish in the joys and aspirations of others.

Speaking about what audiences can expect from this fresh take on this much-loved play, Andrew Panton, Director, said:

"I’m thrilled to be in week three of rehearsals on one of the most-loved Christmas stories, with such a talented cast. Rehearsals have been full of live music and movement, excitement, thought-provoking ensemble theatre. It will be full of beautiful costumes, stunning scenic design and a magnificent music score, with a special twist that sees Ann Louise Ross playing Scrooge.”

A Christmas Carol will run from Thursday 30 November – Sunday 31 December at Dundee Rep Theatre.
