Dundee Rep Theatre is excited to announce Next Up Festival

Dundee Rep Theatre is excited to announce a new project for March 2017. Next Up Festival

Next Up Festival will be a celebration of young theatre-makers in the North East of Scotland. School groups and youth theatres will devise original performances to be shared in Dundee Rep’s auditorium on the weekend of the 24th – 26th March 2017.

Taking inspiration from Dundee Rep Theatre’s upcoming production of Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller each group will work with the stimulus of The American Dream to create an original 25 minute performance.

Each participating group will receive the following:

  • A launch workshop from Rep Creative Learning (RCL)
  • Up to 4 rehearsal support visits from RCL
  • Full technical rehearsal with Rep Production staff

Over the festival weekend groups will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform on Dundee Rep’s main stage
  • Take part in workshops from visiting artists
  • Watch original performances created by their peers
  • Host their own post-show discussion

Participation in Next Up Festival costs £170. This includes launch workshop, rehearsal visits, technical rehearsal, performance and participation in workshops over the festival weekend.
