Dundee Rep is delighted to have received 7 nominations in this year’s Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland (CATS). The awards are organised annually and awarded by the theatre critics of Scotland to celebrate the best Scottish theatre achievements in the theatre year.

Associate Artistic Director Joe Douglas received the Best Director nomination for our production of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman which received 6 nominations in total, more than any other nominated show.

There were two Best Actor nominations for Rep Ensemble members, Billy Mack for his lead role as Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman as well as a nomination for Robert Jack for his role as Benedick in our Spring 2016 production of Much Ado About Nothing.

Joyce McMillan, Scotsman Theatre critic, who co-chairs the judging panel, said “We’re delighted that 19 different productions have made the shortlists, from theatres and companies all across Scotland. They represent a huge range of theatre, from the smallest scale to the largest, and from complex pieces of musical theatre to the most apparently simple solo shows.
