Congratulations to Noisemaker!

Noisemaker

Dundee Rep would like to say a massive congratulations to Scott Gilmour and Claire McKenzie from Noisemaker who have recently been awarded the ‘Unique Business of the Year’ at the SME National Business Awards.

The duo founded Noisemaker, and have worked with Dundee Rep on a variety of exciting projects over the years with many more to come. Noisemakers most recent pieces, Little Red and the Wolf for Dundee Rep, was shortlisted for a CATS (Critics Awards for Scotland) award, Best Production For Children And Young People 2016 and also that year for Best Show For Children And Young People at the UK Theatre awards.

Dundee Rep’s 2018 Christmas Production, The Snow Queen, will be produced in association with Noisemaker and co-commissioned with the Citizens Theatre. Earlier this year, Goodspeed Musicals and Dundee Rep also co-produced a secondary developmental reading in New York City in January 2018, together with Noisemaker.

Throughout the Season, Artistic Associate Claire McKenzie has been working intensively with Dundee Rep Ensemble, as part of its investment in new and established talent.

Claire said:

“We’re absolutely delighted, and humbled, to win this award. For Noisemaker, having our work within the arts acknowledged by the business sector is really important. It’s encouraged us to continue new collaborations both in Scotland and overseas, to challenge the expectations of how theatre can be made, and to remain thankful for our partnership. We feel hugely grateful to the Scottish SME Business Awards, and to everyone that supports and allows us to carry on making new work.”
