Weston Jerwood Creative Bursary, One-year fixed term contract 

This post is an excellent opportunity for somebody looking to develop their career in Arts Marketing and Arts Administration.  It provides the chance to work in one of Scotland’s foremost theatres in a busy arts marketing department learning a variety of skills in Audience Development, Arts Marketing Practices, Venue Ticketing and Customer Service.  This opportunity will enable the right graduate to build a robust skills base and gain invaluable experience in a meaningful work role.  Previous experience is not necessary; we are looking for energy, drive, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. 

This year-long post is funded through the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries programme which will create 40 paid entry-level placements in 40 UK arts organisations across art forms, supported by training, mentoring, a series of international placements and an international field trip. 

About the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries: 

The Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries programme provides talent development opportunities for recent graduates from low-income backgrounds. Through it, Jerwood Charitable Foundation and its partners seek to change the socio-economic barriers that skilled graduates entering the arts workplace are facing. The programme provides paid entry-level placements at leading UK arts organisations, supported by a structured programme of ambitious professional development and peer mentoring 

Prospective candidates must meet the following criteria to apply: 

  • Have graduated from a first degree (BA or equivalent) within the past two years (i.e., in 2015, 2016 or 2017.)  No minimum grade required AND
  • Have received a Maintenance Grant or Young Student’s Bursary or Independent Student’s Bursary (the equivalent of a Maintenance Grant for Scottish Students) during the full period of their course and be able to verify it with the necessary paperwork AND
  • Be a full-time UK resident. 

You will need to be able to prove you meet the criteria with supporting evidence and paperwork with your application.
